It is fast becoming the most popular surface for homes as it combines the best qualities of a range of different surfaces, whilst being visually attractive to look at.

How long does it take to install?

There are a few things that determine how long it takes for resin bound gravel to be installed in your home. First and most importantly, it depends on the size of the area that you would like to cover. If it is a really large area then this can take a lot longer.

One of the other main considerations is the condition of the surface below. For example, if there is already a layer of tarmac there, then the resin bound gravel can be laid on top of this, which means the works won’t take as long. However, if the surface below is uneven, rough and cracked, there will need to be a layer of tarmac installed before the resin bound gravel can be laid on top.

When providing you with a free quotation, our team will be able to give you all the information you need about how long the work will take so that you can plan efficiently.

Is there much maintenance once it’s installed?

Resin bound gravel is known for being very low maintenance because of its strength and drainage properties. This means the surface can withstand a lot of traffic and quickly and easily drains water without leaving it to sit on the surface.

The main ways to keep your resin bound gravel looking good is to sweep it regularly and every now and then, hose it down if there are any marks or dirt stuck to the surface.

How long will it last?

As resin bound gravel is extremely strong and weather resistant, you can expect your new driveway or pathway to last a very long time without cracking or discolouring.

At SGS, we only use the highest quality resin and aggregate available which had minimal colour change once laid, meaning you have a superior looking surface all year round.

We are so confident in the quality of our resin bound gravel that we offer a 10-year guarantee with all of our resin bound gravel installations, should you need it.
