The Shore Group – Wimbledon Police Station Asphalt Surfacing Works

The Shore Group appointed our team to carry out essential resurfacing works at Wimbledon Police Station. The project scope involved precision machine planing, preparation of the surface, and hand laying a new asphalt finish to provide a durable, high-quality surface suitable for heavy use.

Scope of Works

• Machine Planing:
  Existing surface was machine planed by approximately 30 mm, ensuring a smooth and even profile. All arisings were removed from site and disposed of responsibly.
• Preparation:
  A K140 tack coat was applied across the planed surface to promote maximum adhesion between the existing substrate and the new asphalt layer.
• Asphalt Surfacing:
  Hand-laying works were undertaken with precision to achieve a consistent finish. The following specification was applied:
  AC10 SMA (Stone Mastic Asphalt) at 35 mm

Outcome

The works were completed efficiently, with minimal disruption to operations at Wimbledon Police Station. The new asphalt surface provides:
