Large-Scale Driveway Asphalt Resurfacing, Bolney

Project Overview

SGS Surfacing recently completed a large-scale domestic resurfacing project in Bolney, transforming an existing shingle driveway into a high-quality asphalt surface that complements the beautiful surrounding property.

The project covered an area of approximately 514m² and included full excavation, drainage improvements, edging installation, and new surfacing works.

Scope of Works

Site set up including welfare facilities
Full excavation and removal of existing shingle driveway down to sub base level
Import and installation of approximately 20 tonnes of primary grade Type 1 material to build up levels where required
Installation of granite sett edging to all unsupported edges
Construction of a new step unit using matching granite setts
Installation of B125 rated ACO drainage channels at the garage entrance
Reconsolidation and compaction of the existing sub base
Hand laying and compaction of AC20 dense binder asphalt at 60mm depth
Hand laying and compaction of AC10 Stone Mastic Asphalt wearing course at 35mm depth
Full site clean and tidy upon completion

Outcome

The completed driveway has significantly enhanced both the appearance and functionality of the property, providing a durable, clean, and aesthetically pleasing finish in keeping with the high standard of the home.

The project was delivered efficiently with minimal disruption to the client, maintaining a clean and organised site throughout the works.
