We’re thrilled to showcase the dramatic transformation at Dorchester Primary School, completed in partnership with Pentagon Play. This project revitalized a 1,000 m² outdoor area, creating a safe, durable, and ready-to-use space for future play equipment installation.

The Project

Scope of Works

The project involved a complete overhaul of the playground area, including:

Removal of existing play equipment and plastic grass
Excavation of the area by approximately 200 mm, with all waste responsibly recycled
Installation of vehicular-grade membrane followed by 100 mm of zero fines 6F4 crushed concrete
200 m of concrete path edgings installed for durability and safety
Sub-base finished with 50 mm of primary grade type 3 aggregate
Hand-raked and compacted 50 mm AC10 open course asphalt for a smooth, resilient surface
Full removal of all waste associated with our works

Waste management: Excavation generated significant material, all of which was recycled responsibly.
Surface preparation: Achieving a perfectly level sub-base required careful layering and compaction of multiple aggregates.
Durability & finish: Hand-raking and compacting the AC10 asphalt ensured a smooth, long-lasting surface suitable for active school use.
